Scalp Micropigmentation

for hair loss

Scalp micropigmentation or SMP for short, is a cosmetic treatment that can help create the appearance of hair in a person experiencing some form of hair loss like baldness or thinning hair.

SMP uses a very fine needle and ink to deposit tiny ink dots on to the scalp. This creates the appearance of a buzz cut.

SMP provides a stubble effect on a treated head, and or give the appearance of a denser head of hair.

Does SMP hurt?

The SMP treatment is done using a very fine needle, much smaller than a traditional tattoo needle. This makes the process much less painful than getting a traditional tattoo.

Although most people report minimal discomfort, each individuals pain tolerance can differ and thus pre-treatment options are available to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

How long does it last?

SMP is considered a semi-permanent procedure. This is because it can fade over time due to the natural exfoliation process of our skin.

Many factors can come in to play that determine the actual amount of time your SMP treatment will last, like your skin care routine or amount of UV exposure.

Every individual is different but people can expect to have the treated area last 3 years or more before needing a touch-up session to bring back the vibrancy of the SMP.
